"My husband and I tried Kinfolks Cafe for the first time while visiting Daytona Beach. We ordered through Grubhub. The delivery time was on time. Not a long wait. I ordered the catfish dinner. I got mac & cheese and sweet potatoes as sides. My husband got the catfish & shrimp dinner with fries as his side, and he got an order of chicken wings. He started eating before I could get pictures of his plate. All the fried items tasted freshly cooked. (The catfish were real catfish fillets, not Swai. The size looked to be the 5 oz sizes fillet.) All the fried items tasted good! The only thing is that we didn't get any condiments such as ketchup, hot sauce, cocktail sauce, or tarter sauce. This may have been our fault. We're not sure if it was supposed to have been entered when ordering. We didn't see it. The sweet potatoes were good, not stringy. My only disappointment beside no condiments was the mac & cheese. Although the taste was good, it was dry because it seemed to have been sitting for a long time, which caused it to get dried out. I would try the restaurant again if I could get the fresh mac & cheese. (I suggest you make the macaroni and divide it into individual servings and freeze. Take out what you need at the beginning of each day and put in the refrigerator to thaw. Heat the servings as needed. It will taste freshly cooked each time. ... that's my two cents that you didn't ask for. ) Much success"

"You know those tourist seafood places with their imported chefs ain't able to do it like a local. This spot hits. So good I didn't even think about a photo till I'd already dug into it. If you want flavor this place has it, with something available for everyone. A little wait, and if you call ahead you may have better results. The fried food was so good fresh out the fryer. Seafood with soul, now you know."

"Quaint spot down in Daytona. Food took a little long but was worth the wait. We got the baked chicken and beef stew. Baked chicken was cooked well. Yellow rice was great. Mac n cheese home made vibes. Baked beans were also good. Cornbread was moist and baked well. Beef stew was really good. Flavor town all over it. Mashed with gravy was good. Staff was really nice. Definitely going back highly recommended"

"The maximum is five stars but I think this place and the people deserve much more! The food was extraordinarily good, I love this kind of food and finding this place took me way too long because I wish I had found it a year ago, I cannot emphasize enough how good this place really is. If you have not been here, you need to head there right now! I love good collard greens and they are very hard to find, Ginger doesn't like collards but I only got two small bites because she ate it all! That's how good it was!"

"I have been coming to Daytona for 39 years and this is one of the best meals I have ever had here. The Baked Chicken and green beans were seasoned perfectly. The Baked Chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. The mac and cheese was bomb, and the Banana Pudding and Strawberry cheesecake were a dream! The best part is this place is friendly on your wallet. Seriously some of the best take out I have ever had! I cant wait to order again and try the meatloaf. If you want a delicious homecooked meal that tastes like your grandma made it, this is the place to go."

Most Disliked things

Several visitors have mentioned occasional delays during peak hours, especially weekends, leading to a longer wait for food. Additionally, specific condiments are needed to complement various dishes, and a few patrons have noted their absence in takeout orders.
